Today, Tampa has a population of around 399,690 people. It is the third most populous city in the state of Florida. The greater metro area of Tampa, which includes St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Clearwater, has around 3.2 million residents. Other large cities nearby include Riverview, Brandon, Plant City, as well as Valrico. Tampa was named the “Most Liveable City in the United States” in 2018 by the US Conference of Mayors.
